Events for 2011.

Saturday, 8th October - Autumn meeting at Grosmont Old Town Hall - PROVISIONAL PROGRAMME
George de Fossard, a young 'bespoke clock maker' from Somerset.  He has made new clocks by commission for 'Derek Roberts Clocks' in Tonbridge, Kent, is currently working on a 'reproduction' half scale Fromanteel style clock to showcase his skills.  He expects to talk about designing and making this.
Mike Berry, a Manchester restorer, who will talk about a particular restoration project on a longcase by Jeffreys, and the research it led him into.

Plus More hopefully practical talks.

30th October - Trip to the BHI Headquarters at Upton Hall, Notts.
It has been suggested that we organize a trip to The British Horological Institute at Upton Hall near Nottingham . The Institute runs an open day on the Sunday marking the end of British Summer Time, this year's date is 30th October. Two of our members Philip Bridgway and Lyndon Elson have offered to organize the day which promises to be an excellent chance to view the exhibits at Upton hall and experience the show put on for the open day.

The Programme

7.45 am Assemble at the Hilton Hotel near the Coldra Roundabout, Newport NP1 82LX.
Motor Cars can be left in the hotel car park for the day. Parking paid at this time.
8.00 The coach will pick up our group in the hotel car park.
11.30 Arrive at Upton Hall for BHI Open Day
1.00 pm Lunch - Phil Bridgway will advise at a later date.
2.00 Continue to enjoy the open day.
4.15 Coach leaves for homeward journey.
8.00 Arrive back at Hilton Hotel.

Costs - This time it is difficult to obtain definite costs until the numbers have been finalized. However known amounts are as follows.

Car parking at Hilton Hotel £12.00
Coach cost £20.00 approx.
Entry to Upton Hall £ 5.00
Lunch to be advised
